Opportunity
Every day as a Salesman you have the opportunity to change your life, change your company’s business, change your clients’ lives. Are you ready to do that when the phone rings? When the client walks in? When you have your meeting at their office? Are you able to put all of your attention into them during the time you have with them? If you can’t answer yes to those questions, then reschedule the meeting or phone call. If you’re at a place where the clients come to you like a car dealership, let someone else who is prepared take that client. It is better to not waste the opportunity to do business with that client because you are not ready or in the right frame of mind.
At the same time you have an infinite number of opportunities and you have a limited number. You’ll never get to see those infinitie masses if you burn too many of the finite ones and you get fired or your business closes. Be ready when opportunity knocks, or else you may not see them again.
