Rules of Sales: Rule 6

Sales is not a 8-5 job

Stop watching the clock. You will always be selling yourself. Every interaction is an opportunity to leave your mark on someone who may know someone who is buying what you’re selling. Give your cards out every time you pay a check at the restaurant, every time you buy something. Don’t be the guy that walks into the room handing out cards – have some class with it – but make it known that you sell whatever it is that you sell.

Also if you’re a douchebag, people will associate your product with that behavior the moment they know that’s what you do. You are always representing your team and your product.

Be in the community, be at relevant meetups and events that go on locally. It is tough to take the time to be successful sometimes, but the payoff is worth it if you do it right.

Always
Be
